St Leger iPod winner top of the stakes

24 October 2011

LUCKY winner Debbie Clendon from Doncaster has saddled herself an Apple iPod Touch 8GB after outflanking other entrants in a competition run by Travel South Yorkshire.

The competition was to promote Travel South Yorkshire’s role as Official Travel Partner and sponsor of the annual St Leger Festival Week - helping people to find a greener way to the festival by using public transport and Park & Ride.

Debbie was picked at random from the entries, having entered the draw on Travel South Yorkshire’s St Leger Festival Week web page.

Receiving her prize, Debbie (41) said: “I was really pleased to be the winner of the iPod Touch. It’s something I’ve always wanted and I’m excited about using it. My son will be very jealous!”

Travel South Yorkshire worked with St Leger Festival Week organisers, Doncaster Council and Doncaster Racecourse, to promote the ten day celebration of racing, music, food and culture. Highlights from the festival, which took place 2-11 September, included the St Leger race meeting, a Roman soldier march and the Doncaster Live rock concert.
