Lucky winner Jenny Hampshire got a new year treat on Friday [13 January] after winning five hundred pounds worth of Love2Shop vouchers in a competition run by Travel South Yorkshire and Capital FM.
The competition, which promoted Travel South Yorkshire’s Christmas Services campaign, gave travellers essential bus, train and tram information for the festive season.
Jenny (25) from Doncaster was picked at random from the entries, having entered Travel South Yorkshire’s draw on the Capital FM website.
Receiving her prize, Jenny said: “I couldn’t believe it when they told me I had won. I’m really excited, and so are my sisters because I’m taking them clothes shopping! I’m going to spend the vouchers on a new camera because mine broke when I went travelling.”
Travel South Yorkshire’s campaign also saw shoppers and travellers go head-to-head last month to win hundreds of pounds worth of on-the-spot prizes in the Capital Christmas Quiz, hosted in transport interchanges across South Yorkshire.
South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE) Director General David Brown, said: “We were delighted to work with Capital FM to offer some festive fun, great prizes, and to help people get where they needed to be during the holiday season.
“We are committed to making travel on public transport as accessible as possible, and our recently refreshed website offers a wide range of travel options at any time of the year. Whether you’re planning a journey, or checking for disruptions, travelsouthyorkshire.com will help you work out the best route for your trip.”
