I’d like to apply for a vacancy, can I submit a CV?

We don’t accept CVs unless this is specified in the job advert.  We ask candidates to complete an application form to ensure our recruitment and selection process is fair. You can either complete an application form online, download a form from this site or call 0114 221 1223 or email recruitment@sypte.co.uk to request an application pack.

I’d like to apply for more than one of the positions you currently have advertised. Can you accept the same application form?

Each position is different and therefore will have a different set of essential and desirable criteria.  To ensure you have fully demonstrated the criteria for each role you will need to complete a separate application form for each vacancy.  

Can I attach a copy of my CV to the application form?

No. Please use Section 6 of the application form to add any details you feel will support your application.

Do you keep applicant’s details on file in case they may be suitable for another vacancy?

No, we don’t hold applicant’s details on a database.  Though occasionally, if a similar role is advertised soon after the original application was made, we may contact you to see if you are still interested in working for SYPTE.

How old do I need to be to be employed by SYPTE?

You will need to be 16 years of age and have left school.

How do I sign the form when it’s in an electronic format?

If you don’t have an electronic signature to insert, please just type your full name. If you are selected for interview you will be asked to sign the form at this point.

What is the latest I can submit an application?

You will need to submit your completed application form by 11.59pm on the day the post closes, unless a time is specified on the advert.

Where do I send my completed form?

The easiest way to send your completed form to us is by applying online. If you have downloaded the form, you can either email it back to us at recruitment@sypte.co.uk or post your completed application to SYPTE, PO Box 801, Sheffield, S2 5YT. Please note your application must be received by the closing date.

Can I still apply after the closing date?

No, once the closing date has passed you cannot apply for a post. Any application received after the closing date will be noted as late and will not be considered.

What happens after I submit my application online?

Once you submit your application online, you will receive an email notification confirming receipt of your application.

How will I know I have been shortlisted for interview?

All our posts are shortlisted within six weeks of the closing date. If you have been shortlisted, you will be invited to attend an interview either by email, telephone or letter and then sent an information pack with everything you will need.

Will I receive feedback on my application if I’ve not been offered an interview?

Due to the high volumes of applications we receive we do not contact each applicant individually. However, if you have not been contacted within six weeks of the closing date, you can request feedback on your application form. This will be provided by the Human Resources team. Please note this may take up to 10 working days.

Will I receive feedback if not successful in my interview?

We aim to contact unsuccessful candidates within five working days of their interview to inform them of the outcome. Feedback will then be provided by the Human Resources team. Please note this may take up to 10 working days.

I’ve received a job offer, what happens next?

All our offers are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, references and, where appropriate, an occupational health (medical) screening and CRB checks. Initially you will receive a provisional offer letter. Once all clearances have been received your full job description and terms and conditions of employment will be sent to you.
