Supertram disruption

05 April 2011

Due to essential rail replacement work on the Supertram network at Sheffield Cathedral there will be disruption to the tram network on Sunday 10 April 2011.

A bus replacement service (operated by Stagecoach Sheffield) will operate in the city centre between Fitzalan Square, Castle Square, Cathedral, West Street, University and through to Shalesmoor.

The tram will operate to a regular as possible Sunday timetable but will not serve stops between Fitzalan Square and the University. Single line operation will be in use between Shalesmoor and the University.

All journeys on the Purple route from Herdings that operate all the way to Meadowhall will run direct from Sheffield Station to Cricket Inn Road and not serve Fitzalan Square. Yellow tram journeys to Meadowhall will operate from Fitzalan Square. Herdings to City only journeys and any journeys to Herdings are not affected.

The replacement bus service will pick up at Haymarket (Fitzalan Square), High Street (Castle Square), Church Street HS5 (Cathedral) and all stops from West Street to Shalesmoor. It will return non stop via Snig Hill to Haymarket (Fitzalan Square).

Supertram staff will be in attendance advising passengers with any queries.

First South Yorkshire and Veolia Transport services 22, 49 and 95 from Church Street will use HS4 rather than HS5 on this Sunday.
