Winner Wayne nets top prize

25 May 2011

ONE lucky reader has netted the top prize and won a brand new Apple iMac computer in a competition run by Travel South Yorkshire.

Travel South Yorkshire teamed up with The Star to offer readers the chance to win this incredible prize following a launch to promote its new and improved website. After receiving thousands of entries, the winner was drawn at random and the prize went to Wayne Slater from Hackenthorpe in Sheffield.

Mr Slater said: “I am absolutely over the moon to have won this prize. I never thought I could be so lucky. I’ll definitely be using my computer to try out the new Travel South Yorkshire website.”

The Travel South Yorkshire website has been updated following customer feedback and now offers a whole host of enhanced tools and features to make planning your journey as easy as possible.

SYPTE Director of Strategy Ben Still presented Mr Slater with the iMac and said: “I am absolutely delighted that Wayne has won this prize. We are committed to making travel on public transport as accessible as possible, and the new website really helps inform users of the options available to them.”

As well as live disruptions updates to help you plan your journey, the website offers improved navigation, ticket finder tools and even an interactive map so passengers can view local bus and tram routes.
