11 June 2012

Women taking part in Race for Life in Rotherham can get there for free thanks to a special offer from Travel South Yorkshire and First.

Race participants can travel to and from their event on any First bus without charge when they show their entry number to the driver. Free parking will also be made available at Rotherham Interchange on the day of the event.

Rotherham’s Race for Life event takes place at Herringthorpe Stadium on Sunday 17 June at 11am. Participants can plan their journey there by public transport or Park & Ride at travelsouthyorkshire.com

Race for Life is the largest women-only fundraising event in the UK. Since it began, over six million participants have raised over £457 million, walking, jogging or running for Cancer Research UK.

SYPTE Director General, David Brown, said: “Travel South Yorkshire is proud to be supporting Cancer Research UK with raising awareness of Race for Life events in South Yorkshire. Good luck to all participants.”
