SYPTE Director General moves on

28 February 2013

David Brown, SYPTE Director General, is to join Merseytravel. The role of SYPTE Director General will be advertised shortly as a result and any appointment will be made by South Yorkshire Integrated Transport Authority (SYITA).

Mr Brown has been Director General since 2008 when he replaced Roy Wicks, before which he held the post of SYPTE Passenger Services Director. He is also the current chair of the Passenger Transport Executive Group (pteg), which promotes the interest of the six PTEs.

Mick Jameson, Chair of SYITA, said: "We wish David well at Merseytravel and thank him for all he has done at SYPTE. We have achieved a lot in the years we have worked together, including putting top-class public transport infrastructure in place and implementing groundbreaking agreements with bus companies that make a real difference to the travelling public. We will continue to work with David through pteg to further the interests of public transport nationally."
