Public transport - plan ahead in wintry weather

PUBLIC transport users are being urged to take extra care and plan their journey in advance as forecasters issue warnings for wintry weather.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of snow for South Yorkshire from Thursday evening until Friday afternoon (3 and 4 March).

Should weather conditions impact on public transport services, live disruption updates to scheduled bus, tram and train services will be available via:

A South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE) spokesperson, said: “In the event of severe weather, some of the region’s public transport services may be subject to short notice changes. While every effort is made in these circumstances to keep disruption to a minimum where it is safe to do so, we encourage passengers to take extra care and plan their journey ahead.”
