Name change to South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority

South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE) will start to conduct business under the name of South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA), as the formal integration of SYPTE and the Mayoral Combined Authority continues to progress.

SYMCA brings together the local authorities of Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield, SYPTE and the private sector through the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP).

By formally integrating as one organisation, together we will be able to better serve the communities and businesses of South Yorkshire - investing in and managing the 102 million passenger journeys made each year and delivering on our mission to create a stronger, greener, fairer South Yorkshire.

While SYPTE will continue to exist and retain the responsibilities of the local transport authority until the legal integration is complete, from 17 September and over the coming weeks and months you will see some changes to our websites, our email addresses and our logo. This will not fundamentally alter day to day operations but will mean some changes to administration.

Public transport products, information, services and travel assistance will continue to be provided through our customer facing brand, Travel South Yorkshire.
