Excitement builds for improved bus services in Rotherham

EXCITEMENT is building ahead of the launch of the Rotherham Bus Partnership from 19, 20 & 21 July, an eagerly awaited voluntary agreement with bus operators that will see many customers benefitting from changes to the local bus network.

Promotional walkabout teams will be in and around Rotherham town centre, including Rotherham Interchange and the Travel Information Centre, on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 July to provide local residents with information about the changes and new multi operator tickets available.

The Rotherham Bus Partnership is a voluntary agreement that brings together Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive, First South Yorkshire, Stagecoach Yorkshire, TM Travel and Stagecoach East Midlands, who believe that by working together they can develop bus services throughout Rotherham and the surrounding areas to help customers; making bus travel simpler, more flexible and more convenient, so that the numbers of people using it grow.

Rotherham Bus Partnership has worked with TravelMaster to introduce a new range of value for money tickets that offer travel on any bus in Rotherham, regardless of who provides it, from 21 July. The Rotherham Connect Day is priced at £4.50, and the Rotherham Connect 7 Day is £17.00, with both tickets being available on buses in the network. A longer term 28 day ticket will also be available from Travel Information Centres.
