The Barnsley Cycle HUB, funded by the Department for Transport’s Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF), will be officially opened by The Mayor of Barnsley, Cllr Brian Mathers on 18th January at 11.30am.
The HUB is located in Barnsley Interchange and offers a range of cycle support services to Barnsley residents and businesses, removing barriers that prevent people from getting into cycling. The launch will enable members of the public to have a guided tour of the facilities and register for their secure bike parking access fob.

HUB Manager Adam Simmonite, who has a wealth of experience in the cycling industry, both personally and professionally, said: “The HUB is a great addition to Barnsley Town Centre and the perfect place to start your cycling journey. The location is ideal to drop in for cycle repairs, a quick Dr Bike check-up or to book onto a bike maintenance workshop. Pop in and see us and we’ll get you on the road in no time."
Cllr Roy Miller, Barnsley Council Cabinet Spokesperson for Place, said: “This a great new resource for Barnsley, it provides a friendly place where all the support you need to get cycling is available, helping to people lead healthier more active lives.”
The HUB is currently operating winter opening times until March 31st, and is open from 7.30am-3.30pm Monday-Friday. The secure indoor parking is open Monday-Saturday 6am-10pm and Sundays 10.00am-5.30pm.
