Elderly people in South Yorkshire can sit back and relax when it comes to the time to renew their travel pass, as they will be automatically renewed from 2017.
For the first time, senior travellers will no longer need to reapply for their English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) Senior Pass, after South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE) developed a new automatic renewal process for passes that expire after 31 December 2016.
All customers will need to do is look out for their pass landing on their doormat four weeks before their current pass expires. If a customer has moved house, or wants to update their details or photo, they should contact Travel South Yorkshire as soon as possible.
SYPTE Executive Director, Stephen Edwards, said: “We are pleased to introduce the new auto renewal pass process for ENCTS pass holders. The process will remove the need for our customers to reapply for their pass, making it even easier for them to continue to benefit from free and discounted travel across South Yorkshire.”
Customers with Senior Passes that expire on or before 31 December 2016 and those applying for their first ENCTS pass will need to renew or apply in the usual way, online at travelsouthyorkshire.com, via a paper application from an interchange or by calling Traveline on 01709 515151.
