Inmotion! named winner of Marketing Initiative of the Year award at UK Bus Awards


South Yorkshire based Inmotion! has achieved national recognition by being crowned the winner of the Marketing Initiative of the Year award at the UK Bus Awards, for its Busboost initiative.

Busboost, a transport initiative delivered by Inmotion! to encourage commuters from South Yorkshire businesses and organisations who normally travel by car, to switch to public transport for part, or all, of their journey, was announced as the winner of the prestigious award at a ceremony at The Ballroom, Southbank in London on 23 November 2016.

The judges recognised the success of the scheme, which provided almost 4,000 daily commuters with a 28 day smartcard enabling free use of local bus, tram and train services during the travel trial period. Of these participants, 77% said they would continue to use public transport for all or part of their daily commute and would personally recommend public transport to other people.

South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive Marketing Manager, Tanya Shildrick, said “It’s great to receive national recognition from the UK Bus Awards. The modal shift and longer-term behaviour change that we’ve seen from thousands of the regions commuters is testament to the hard work of the Inmotion! team.”

The UK Bus Awards celebrate best practice, high quality staff and outstanding standards of customer service in the industry. The ceremony featured, as guest of honour, Norman Baker - former transport minister and Chair of Bus Users UK which are part of Bus Industry Awards Ltd, a representative body of bus operators, local authorities, the trade press, the Campaign for Better Transport and the Chartered Institute of Transport who nominate and select the UK Bus Awards.
