Get active on your commute during Men’s Health Week


As part of Men’s Health Week (11-17 June 2018), South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive’s (SYPTE’s) sustainable travel team, Inmotion! will promote the range of free activities on offer across our region helping people to get active as part of their daily commute and achieve a healthier lifestyle.

SYPTE’s Sustainable Travel Advisor, Matt Dutchak, who will be putting himself to the test throughout the week said: “I’ll be out and about during Men’s Health Week to find out more about the fantastic activities and schemes that our region has to offer to help us all lead a healthier, happier lifestyle.

“I’ve always had a keen interest in health and wellbeing but I have never really considered how I could incorporate and achieve my daily exercise into my work-life routine. I am looking forward to learning and getting to understand the schemes and services that are available across South Yorkshire to help you add a bit of exercise to your day – either to and from work or during lunch breaks.

“A small change to your lifestyle can have huge benefits on your health and wellbeing, for example getting off the bus one stop earlier to have a longer walk, or cycling to work one day a week”.

As well as visiting some of the many schemes on offer around the county, Matt will be taking to twitter, @Inmotion__, throughout the week to provide followers with a #Mattfact, as he explores the various free, local health and wellbeing activities on offer in South Yorkshire as well as giving hints and tips on how the public can get active as part of their everyday life.

Men’s Health Week aims to raise awareness of health issues that affect men and encourages them to regularly check them out.
