PASSENGERS are being urged to plan ahead and check before they travel as heavy snowfall affects some public transport services across parts of South Yorkshire.
Live disruption updates to scheduled bus, tram and train services are available via:
South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive’s Director of Transport Operations, Pat Beijer, said: “Snowfall is affecting bus, tram and rail services in some areas. In severe weather, public transport could be subject to short notice changes. While every effort is made to keep disruption to a minimum, where it is safe to do so, we’re encouraging passengers to take extra care, check for updates and plan their journey before they travel.”
During national lockdown restrictions, which began on Tuesday 5 January 2021, government advice is to stay at home where possible and only travel for essential reasons, including for work, education or to buy essential goods. Do not use public transport if you or someone in your household or support bubble has symptoms of COVID-19 – a new continuous cough, loss of sense of taste or smell or a high temperature – or if you have been told to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace.
