As a Mayoral Combined Authority, we are current going through a period of Integration, which will see the Mayoral Combined Authority Executive and South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive come together as a single entity known as the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, we expect the organisations to be fully integrated by April 2022.

Data Services Officer (permanent)

Salary: £24,982 - £27,741 per annum

37 hours per week

We’re looking for a self-motivated Data Services Officer to join our Data Services team. You will be responsible for ensuring data structures for the team are in place to enable data capture, validation storage and extraction to support business reporting requirements.

As our Data Services Officer, you will manage datasets, quality control of data and provide validated outputs to internal teams and external customers. You will support district wide reporting with quality, relevant data and information for analysis and manipulation. You will also develop, manage and execute all processes required for ensuring the correct data warehouse, structures and aggregations are performed. This is to ensure effective reporting processes can be achieved through dashboard and self-serve reporting tools such as Power BI.

Our ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of databases (including query writing, input and extraction) and spreadsheets using appropriate IT tools. You will have knowledge of SQL Server relational databases, including scripting and creating objects and experience of using Excel at an advanced level. For example, creating pivot tables, writing complex or advanced formulas for analysing data and writing VBA code. As you will work closely, interactively and collaboratively with numerous stakeholders, you will need excellent communication, interpersonal and team working skills.

The postholder will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver value from these activities to inform and improve institutional performance.

Financial Controller (permanent)

Salary: £48,147 - £51,687 per annum

37 hours per week

We’re looking for a Financial Controller with a proven track record in local government finance. You will be responsible for leading on the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority group’s statutory financial reporting. This includes the preparation of the annual statutory accounts and the submission of statutory returns.

You will work with the Senior Finance Business Partner to support the Finance Leadership Team in delivering one of its key business plan objectives; to drive performance through effective use of new and existing financial systems to provide timely and accurate analysis and advice. This is especially important in the context of the integration of the SYMCA group. Here, financial regulations, the assurance framework and schemes of delegation will be reviewed and re-aligned.

You will already have substantial experience of working in a similar role in local government or the public sector. In addition, you’ll need a strong financial and commercial acumen. You will hold a professional accountancy qualification with evidence of up-to-date knowledge of treasury management, reporting standards and Financial Legislation. You will also be able to demonstrate recent successful collaborative working across multi-disciplinary teams and with external stakeholders.

Senior Campaigns Officer (fixed term to 31 December 2022)

Salary: £30,623 - £36,641 per annum

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic candidate who will be responsible for developing and delivering multichannel recovery marketing campaigns for public transport in South Yorkshire. The Senior Campaigns Officer will join our multi-talented and highly motivated team to drive engagement and grow public transport usage among existing, new, and lapsed users.

The successful candidate will build and maintain key stakeholder relationships relevant to public transport recovery and proactively seek out opportunities to collaborate and promote public transport in South Yorkshire across a range of channels. You will have previous experience in the use of web and social media technologies, including content management systems, monitoring systems and analytical packages, as well as understanding and buying other media to help reach our audiences. You will also have experience of developing and implementing integrated marketing campaigns achieving reach, engagement and results.
